Activity Dept for Healthcare and Assisted Living residents. Assist with groups such as cooking, crafts, socials, special events, sports, exercise. Assist, or lead if and when volunteer is comfortable, and has a desire to lead, leisure time such as reading, reminisce, games, discussions, sitting or strolling with residents outdoors or indoors, take resident to gift shop, cafe, thriftshop, all located inside our home, polish resident nails/hand massage, visit with resident to "listen"/"validate" their life, and importance in this world. We also have limited opportunities such as decorating, run copies, hang or distribute items such as calendars, newsletters. These assignments are usually offered before or after other volunteer work, if the volunteer has the time and desire to do so. Volunteer iinterest would naturally be determined prior to staring at The Glebe.
