The City of Roanoke, in partnership with various local agencies will be leading the effort to identify the number of homeless in the Blue Ridge Continuum of Care.   We are recruiting dedicated volunteers to canvass Roanoke's shelters to survey the area's most vulnerable individuals and families. Our street survey will be conducted by volunteers with the Jefferson College of Health Sciences.  To ensure the most accurate results possible, we will survey individuals during the early morning hours on Thursday, January 28, 2016. The shelter surveys will be conducted beginning at 4:30PM on the evening of January 28, 2016.  Survey findings will be presented to the community once compiled. 

Volunteers are needed in the positions listed above. ALL volunteers must be registered (please do not bring unregistered volunteers with you). Training for shelter count volunteers will take place at 4:30PM on January 28th at the shelter where you are registered. Training for Street Canvassing volunteers for the students at Jefferson College of Health Sciences (at JCHS) will be coordinated by Dr. Judy Lash.
