The Least of These Ministry

The Least of These Ministry (TLOT) is a non-profit organization that strives to make a positive difference in the lives of the homeless community in the Roanoke Valley. Its mission is to meet men and women living on the streets and serve them with spiritual, physical, and emotional support in the name of Jesus Christ.

Our organization offers the following services to those experiencing homelessness and are currently unsheltered:

> assist eligible homeless friends in finding and securing affordable housing. Move-in necessities (like furniture, linens, dishes, pots/pans, silverware) are also provided when possible.

> address immediate needs on the streets through the mobile outreach vehicle, distributing Items such as cold weather gear, t-shirts, socks, hygiene items, sleeping bags, snacks, and more.

> operates a "sustaining station", on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m, providing lunch, shower and laundry services as well as a needs pantry to our unsheltered friends. Body wash, razors, towels, and wash cloths are provided. Showers are cleaned in between each use. Laundry detergent is also provided.

> provide access to outdoor covered lockers in the parking lot next to our facility to allow unsheltered friends to store their personal belongings safely. Our organization provides combination locks. This service protects their personal belongings from theft, disposal, and weather while they are at work or tending to other personal needs.

> offer an innovative way to provide a place of refuge during nights when temperatures are below 40 degrees through the "warming bus." Stocked with blankets and snacks, the warming bus offers warmth, safety, and a place to get some rest in extreme temperatures. The warming bus is accessible from November thru March, from 9PM-6:30AM, when temperatures are 40 degrees or colder.

>operates "Suites by TLOT", a 19-unit motel that offers affordable rates to those experiencing homelessness. This motel offers those on fixed incomes or the working poor an "in the meantime" shelter option while they continue their pursuit of permanent affordable housing.
