Who We Are

The mission of Virginia State Parks is to conserve the historic and cultural resources of the Commonwealth, and provide recreational and educational opportunities consistent with the good stewardship of these lands, water and facilities that leave them unimpaired for future generations.

What We Do

Natural Bridge State Park was dedicated on September 24, 2016, becoming the 37th Virginia State Park. At the center of the park, the 200-foot tall Natural Bridge sits in a limestone gorge formed by Cedar Creek. The park is also home to lush forest, rolling meadows, karst terrain, and magnificent views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the James River Valley. Over 10 miles of trail provide recreational opportunities for our guests. The park's Visitor Center contains exhibits and a gift shop and interpretive history and environmental education programs are offered on a regular basis. Natural Bridge State Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark.
