Volunteers needed to staff Giles County Animal Shelter on Weekends from 2-4 pm, transport animals to vets during the week for spay/neuter, help with fundraising such as at town festivals and special events, foster animals so they won't be euthanized before sending them to another rescue for adoption.
What We Do
GCAR would like to bring about a lasting change in the public awareness of, and behavior toward, all animals in order to prevent animal cruelty, exploitation, overpopulation and neglect. We seek to achieve our goals through education, spay/neuter programs, public policy reform, and the empowerment of our supporters and partners.Giles County Animal Rescue, Inc. (GCAR) was established in order to give the companion animals in the County Animal Shelter a chance to be adopted and therefore a chance at life. We work directly with the county?s Animal Control Officers, Board of Supervisors, and the people of Giles County to accomplish this goal. We also work to ensure that the county shelter remains in compliance with all state laws and regulations.
