What We Do
Virginia Amateur Sports is a nonprofit organization that promotes healthy living and lifestyles through education and sporting events, such as the Subway Commonwealth Games of Virginia. The Commonwealth Games is a multi-sport, Olympic-style festival held in Roanoke and the surrounding area for citizens of Virginia. In 2014, approximately 10,000 athletes participated in the Games, stimulating a 3.1 million dollar economic impact.
