Who We Are

Currently more than 140,000 in Virginia are living with Alzheimer's disease and over 458,000 caregivers, family and friends are providing care. Serving 52 counties and cities, with offices in Charlottesville, Danville, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg and Roanoke, the Alzheimer's Association is here to help. We provide education and support to all those facing Alzheimer's and other dementias throughout our community, including those living with the disease, caregivers, health care professionals and families. We are also committed to advocating for the needs and rights of those facing Alzheimer's disease and advancing critical research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.

What We Do

The Alzheimer’s Association Central and Western Virginia Chapter provides supportive programs and services to help people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, their caregivers and families deal with the disease and its impact on their lives. We offer a variety of services, including information and referral, care consultation, support groups, safety services, and education.
