Are you creative? Do you love to write? Help us create some encouraging notes for dialysis patients. There are over 11,000 patients on dialysis in Virginia. ?Dialysis patients are in kidney failure and must visit the dialysis clinic every other day for several hours until they can receive a transplant. The average transplant wait time is 3-4 years. It is often exhausting and overwhelming.
Here are the steps to get you started:
1. Express Interest
2. Gather a group or do it as an individual.
3. Get creative! Use preprinted note cards or create your own with construction paper. Write your own notes or use the sample phrases from the internet. Use crayons or a ball point pen. How you go about it doesn't matter, as long as it's from the heart.
4. Contact Megan at the NKF office to turn in your cards. There is no required number to make. At the end of each quarter, NKF will schedule a time to drop off the notes to patients at the clinics.
