Every year volunteer teams from all over the Roanoke Valley will join forces to remove trash from our streams, creeks and rivers and their vicinities. Clean your favorite spot along a stream, tributary or river (or get to know a new one). Since 2001, Fall Waterway volunteers have collected over 275 tons of litter and countless tires from our waterways. Commonly found items include bottles, cans, cigarette butts, bait cans, and plastic bags as well as some more unusual items such as bikes, a Desoto hubcap, diapers, a full furniture suite, toys, refrigerators, and more.
