Description

Volunteers working at Feeding America Southwest Virginia rescue food by inspecting and sorting dented cans, crushed boxes, or other superficially damaged food to ensure the food inside is safe and meets both Federal Government and Feeding America guidelines.

We strive to make the experience a rewarding and bonding time for volunteers. Shifts are generally 9a-12p and 1p-4p during the week, though Saturday sessions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. may be arranged.  Volunteer opportunities are listed on: faswva.volunteerhub.com

Must have the ability to stand  and lift light loads. Orientation and training is provided at the beginning of your shift. 

Must wear closed-toe shoes and minimum age is 16
