2018 Street Marshal Instructions
Road Marshals are responsible for keeping our participants on the correct route during the 5K Walk/Run.

Please dress warmly for the weather and prepare to stand for at most 4 hours.
- Please arrive at Wells Fargo Plaza (corner of Market St. & Salem Ave.) no later than 6:45am. Check-in with the Street Marshals Leaders to get your location, vest, flag, and sign or flag.
- Please bring a cell phone. If you have a runner or walker with an emergency medical need, call 911. Also call 343-7227 to report the incident to the Rescue Mission. If you have a runner or walker with a non-emergency medical need, an EMS truck will be located near the finish line as a First Aid Station.
- You may walk (if your location is close) or get on one of the Rescue Mission vans at the Wells Fargo Plaza being provided to be delivered to your location. Hot beverages will be available on the vans. Park off-route on a side street if driving.
- Please be in your assigned location by 8:00am. [Required by the City of Roanoke.]
- Allow cars to come through the side streets until 8:50am. At 8:50am, move the barrier noted on the map (see back of this form).
- Assure that vehicles do not come through your assigned intersection after 8:50am and while the race and walk is in progress. The race starts at 9am sharp!
- Cheer, encourage and gobble to the runners and walkers!
- Please do not leave your area until one of the Rescue Mission vans (who dropped you off) comes to your location to pick up you and any supplies (this will be shortly after the last walkers and Rescue Mission truck have passed by) between 10:30-11a. Hot beverages will be available on the vans.
- Turn in your signs (sponsor, music, and sponsor), safety vest, and flag when the Rescue Mission truck comes to relieve you at the end of the race/walk.
- After everything has been loaded on the truck, please join us on the Roanoke City Market for refreshments and the Awards Ceremony.
